History
iVolunteer
India
Fellow
was
initiated
in 2005
with the
aim to
enable exceptionally
talented
youth
to
experience first
hand
rural
India's
development
challenges
and
explore
ways to
make a
positive
impact.
Since the launch of the programme, more than 100
Fellows
have
worked
cumulatively
for more
than 600
weeks, in
rural Uttarakhand,
Himachal
Pradesh,
Rajasthan,
Madhya
Pradesh,
Gujarat,
Maharashtra,
Karnataka
and
Tamil
Nadu.
In 2007,
recognizing
the need
for
professional
skills
and
expertise in the development sector,
iVolunteer
launched
the
India
Fellow
Professional
Programme.
The
Professional
Programme
aims
to bring
skills
and
expertise
of
working
professionals
from the
private
sector
to the
rural
social
and development
sector
in India.
The
programme
is about
utilizing
the
skills
of a
professional
to match
the
needs of
the NGO.
