MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF INDIA enriches the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. It works to fulfil the most cherished wishes of children between the ages of 3 and 18 years, living with life threatening illnesses. They need wish granting volunteers, anyone who is available from Monday to Friday for 2-3 days a week and can put in 2-3 hours a day to visit any of the following hospitals: Nair Hospital (Bombay Central), J.J.Hospital (Byculla), Raheja Hospital (Bandra (E)) and Sion Hospital. The volunteers will have to meet the children for a few days initially till the child starts to share his/her wish. The wish is always granted in kind and not cash.
 
 
The BANDRA EAST COMMUNITY CENTER (BECC) is a registered NGO that caters to the socio-economic development of the slums and pavement dwellers. Started in 1974, it runs a shelter home, balwadi, senior citizen programme, typing, tailoring, computer classes and conducts health camps for the community. Our volunteers at BECC have launched a BECC Library Project called ‘Quitabon Se Quitabon Tak (QSQT) - From books to books”. Since the English language competency of the children is very poor, the campaign aims at reading with the kids and for the kids. Volunteers are needed to read books at the Centre on Monday to Friday 7.00pm to 8.30pm or on Saturday 2.30pm to 4.45pm or on Sunday 9.00am to 1.00pm or 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
 
 
CHILDLINE INDIA FOUNDATION runs the CHILDLINE 1098 service, a nation-wide, 24 hour free phone outreach emergency help line for children in need of care and protection. This project is supported by the Union Ministry for Women and Child Development and others and has expanded over the years to cover 75 cities in 24 states. CHILDLINE is launching a unique programme called CHILDLINE Dosti Donor Card Program which aims to generate Rs.2 crores to expand and improve the CHILDLINE service and reach out to more children. Volunteers are needed to help sell the Donor Cards to the general public at Hyper City Mall, Malad on 16th & 17th February anytime between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The CHILDLINE Dosti donor card will carry 9 discount offers from famous retail chains, eateries, theatres, etc.
 
 
MAGIC BUS is a non-profit organization that believes in the ideology of “Sports for Development”. They work with underprivileged children across Mumbai to enable holistic development by organizing outdoor sports activities. Volunteers are needed to participate in their camps which will be held every weekend in February. There are seven 3-day camps to be held at Karjat, three overnight treks to be held at Irshalgadh and 3 sports competitions. Volunteers must attend an orientation prior to the camps. The orientation is organised twice a month.
