Woke up with a smile on Saturday just thinking about the day ahead. Yes! I had planned on spending Valentine's Day with the differently abled kids of Balajothi J

Lo! There I was… in Bal Bhavan, Cubbon Park, after may be a zillion years (ok…I’ll skip the exaggeration) and felt so wonderful. The day saw us go on different fun rides with the kids; the likes of Merry-Go-Round and Mary Columbus. Wow! What a healing experience! Although the initial intent was to spend my time with these kids to brighten their days and add colour to their lives, it turned out to be quite a healing experience for me as they brightened my day in return!

It was truly a very enriching experience, as I am sure most of the volunteers who were with me that day would readily agree to. It was a day where we became kids playing with these kids. It was a day when I felt so at home!

Wouldn't it be such a perfect world if each one of us starts sharing the small joys of life with the less privileged! Taking some precious time out of our busy schedules to appreciate the abundance we have in our lives may not be that significant an effort for us but I have learnt that it can touch the lives of so many people around us in such a beautiful way.
